In 2019, we (Helena and Cetin) together founded "Ungerade" - a small, ethical fashion label based in Vienna, driven by a passion for sustainability and artistic creativity. As complete novices in the textile industry, we embarked on our journey by embellishing pre-produced GOTS-certified T-shirts with our own designs. However, even back then, we had a steadfast goal in mind: to have complete control over the entire production process of our T-shirts, from selecting the raw materials to the finished product. Finding partners who shared our values - producing in smaller quantities, using certified sustainable materials, and supporting fair, social, and ecological projects - proved to be a challenge. Ultimately, we found the perfect collaboration in Izmir, Turkey, which we are proud to be a part of. For the production of our T-shirts, we exclusively use certified Turkish organic cotton (GOTS). This means that the entire production process, from the cultivation of the raw materials to the finished shirt, takes place in Turkey, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint from transportation. We design our minimalist T-shirt designs ourselves or through small collaborations. The T-shirt cuts are also based on our own drawings. With vibrant collections and minimalist designs, our T-shirts are a versatile choice for any occasion, whether it's streetwear, casual, or elegant.
