With her label BABS, founded at the end of 2007, the Viennese designer Barbara Holcmann designs and tailors comfortable, wearable fashion for women and men. The modification and individual implementation of classic cuts create interesting details and special features. For example, there are no side seams in wrap pants developed by BABS. Omitting or relocating seams for a new purpose is a typical feature of BABS Mode. Each item of clothing in the BABS collection has its own story: Discovering the fabric, developing the cut, producing the prototype, every design is the result of an experiment. For the most part, the designer and trained seamstress makes her models herself in her workshop in the eighth district. Larger orders are produced in a tailor shop in Slovakia.
