Local Shopping Street: Shopping, Culinary Delights and Recreation around Taborstraße
The 2nd district of Vienna lies embedded between the Donau Canal and the Danube River and is relatively close to the center of the city. The Carmelite quarter around Taborstraße and Augarten is part of this diverse, green district. There is a lot to see here and a handful of small second-hand shops. Edited by Paloma Pöltinger
Tracing the steps of the emperor’s clothes
The Emperors of Vienna were reliant on the quality of the purveyors to the court of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Not only did the imperial family leave their mark on the economic life, but also on the cityscape, as illustrated in the following article. Edited by Paloma Pöltinger
Vienna Ugly Walk – the ugliest buildings in Vienna
Vienna is a beautiful city – that isn’t up for discussion. Beauty, however, can quickly become boring. Ugliness always remains interesting. That's why the Londoner Eugene Quinn shows the most questionable buildings of the 1st, 2. and 3. district on his walk. In addition to telling funny facts, he also wants to encourage discussions between the participants. Written by Anna Flaschberger
A city trip to Naples: Small “Botteghe” in the midst of lavish sights
Sunshine, seaside and pizza-these things come to mind when thinking about the southern Italian city Naples. However, this is not all this city, located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea has to offer-it also boasts lots of traditional fashion and design labels, which are well worth the visit. “What does success mean to me? Positive feedbacks from my clients“
Fashion, nutrition and acting - that's what Sherly Sancha is passionate about. Among other things, she maintains a small but fine community on her Instagram account @sherlymaezing. After an interview with FashionTouri, it is clear that Sherly cannot be simply labelled. Edited by Paloma Pöltinger
Endlos Fesch - the library of the stylish kind
You won’t find any books at this library; however, you can find around 650 different items of clothing. Endlos Fesch organises monthly pop-up events where you can borrow iconic pieces from local designers, as well as international luxury brands. How that works and how you can profit from it as FashionTouris you'll find out here. A contribution by Anna Flaschberger
Just because it’s the place everyone goes, doesn’t mean it’s the best
More often than not, locals will avoid the places tourists hang around in. The same thing can be said for all the popular shopping streets. In Vienna the best example for this is Kärntner Straße, where shopping is allegedly “ever so wonderful”. Rookie mistake, my dears! You won’t find any quaint, cool shops, but rather the big players like Zara and Co on this road. Now that Mariahilfer Straße has also become very popular among foreign tourists, you will have to switch to smaller streets, such as the one I would like to introduce you to today. ¡Hola a todos!
Who knew that Madrid, besides being the Spanish capital, was the cultural capital of Europe in 1992-a fun fact many of you probably weren’t aware of, although this comes as no surprise when looking at the magnificent cultural attractions this city has to offer. On top of that Madrid has a reputation for being a student’s city, as well as being a city for footballers thanks to Atlético and Real Madrid. In addition, it represents a trading and finance center for Spain. As you can see this city is so multifaceted and different making it quite hard to discover everything about it in just a few days. However I do hope that these FashionTouri-Highlights will make your stay more memorable and ensure that you can see as much as possible. Written by Tabea-Marie Widmann
